Liezel's Cause to help victims in New Orleans

Liezel's Cause is about helping the victims of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. The hurricane has left thousands homeless and the majority of the population was forced to leave everything behind. This unforgiving storm has brought 100,000 evacuees over to Houston to escape the waterlogged disaster area they once called home. Hurricane Katrina is said to be one of the worst storms ever to hit the North American coast.

We are helping these families into apartments and getting them back on their feet. The main necessities that we are providing are:

  • Rent
  • Utilities
  • Basic Needs
  • Furniture
  • Children's Daycare and Schooling
  • Gas Cards, Phone Cards, etc...

Each family obviously has different circumstances and needs. Our goal through Liezel's Cause is to help them become independent. We want them to have as "normal" a life as they had in New Orleans. We would like to see them on "their own" in 2-3 months.

Meet our adopted families.
